Discussion about this topic

I'd like to start a research on monster drop rates on each monster related page. This could be added in a linked page ie: Click here for monster drop rate table Watanka-Droprate --Aerandir1988 12:45, 1 March 2008 (PST)

I've already started a project to gather information regarding what drops from which monsters. There's a thread in the General forum on the official Flyff forum with the list so far, and it's being contributed to daily. However all we can do is list what drops from which monsters (and vice versa, on an item's info page, which monsters it drops from (Example)), not any actual drop rates. I've been told that drop rate information isn't for public release. --Artie 15:39, 1 March 2008 (PST)

While it isnt for public release, gathering this information should be hard if we get community support, tough there is the level factor that messes things up. IE: items will drop less past a certain level. --Aerandir1988 17:07, 1 March 2008 (PST)

It's not the matter of gathering the drop rate (%) information, it's the matter of Gala-Net not wanting it here on the wiki, as far as I know. Besides, it would be impossible to get any kind of accurate drop rate numbers from community input. I believe it just better to state that an item can drop from a monster, not the rate at which it drops. If I believe certain information (drop rates, success rates, actual attack rates of skills, etc) may be considered private by Gala-Net, I ask Sabroso about whether or not it's okay to post on the wiki. I'd recommend any of the mods do the same if they're not sure about something like that. I consider anything that's not easily identifiable by playing the game itself to fall under that category. We don't have the same luxury that fan sites do of being able to post anything we want here, as this is an "official" resource on the gpotato domain, and thus subject to their "censorship", if you will, of what they want, and don't want posted. I don't consider it a big deal though, we can still add a lot of information here. --Artie 17:32, 1 March 2008 (PST)

If its accuracy you're worrying about, as long as all info is correct, it is possible to get very acurate information about this. Increasing the accuracy by increasing the number of players who submit their information. --Aerandir1988 16:39, 10 March 2008 (PDT)

Ah, I missed this page. It's not the accuracy of the drop rate we are worried about, it's just something that we don't want to publicly release on an official site. We want to keep some mystery within the game, that's why certain formulas and drop rates will not be shown on the wiki or anywhere else on the official game's site. --Elsabroso 18:22, 21 March 2008 (PDT)
